The HammerHAI Supercomputer

The HammerHAI supercomputer is a powerful platform for medium- to large-scale workloads involving artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science methods. Located at the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS), it is designed to provide world-class AI capabilities for European industry, small and medium-sized enterprises, startups, and scientific research, particularly in the engineering, manufacturing, automotive and mobility sectors

HammerHAI is the first standalone, AI-optimized supercomputer in Europe to be procured by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking under its AI Factories initiative. Delivery of the system is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026 and it is expected to go into operation in the second half of 2026.

A secure, scalable AI resource

HammerHAI supports the same types of AI workloads typically handled by commercial cloud AI services. The system incorporates a cloud-native software stack that is familiar to the AI community, making it straightforward to migrate or scale applications from local systems or commercial cloud environments. At the same time, it offers a sovereign European alternative based in Germany that is operated in accordance with EU data security regulations. Following its installation, HammerHAI will be included in HLRS’s certification under the ISO 27001 standard for information security management systems.

Free access for eligible users

HammerHAI is a publicly funded resource designed to accelerate innovation in European startups, SMEs, industry, and science. This includes lowering financial barriers to the development and implementation of artificial intelligence solutions. Eligible European companies and researchers can use HammerHAI free of charge.

Start using our resources & solutions now

You do not need to wait until our supercomputer arrives to begin using resources at the HammerHAI AI Factory. We already offer access to AI-optimized hardware, software and tools, and opportunities for skills development and networking.

HammerHAI can already facilitate access to existing computing systems within the HammerHAI consortium. By preparing now, you can be ready to use the HammerHAI supercomputer as soon as it becomes available.

Correction (March 16, 2026): An earlier version of this page listed “1 NVIDIA Grace CPU (72 cores) and 2 NVIDIA B200 Blackwell GPUs”; the correct numbers are 2 CPUs and 4 GPUs.
