Responsible AI by Design is a practical in-company training that equips cross-functional teams with the legal grounding, shared language, and design tools they need to build AI services that are compliant, ethical, and trusted. In one day, your team moves from compliance uncertainty to a concrete risk map, actionable guardrails, and the confidence to make responsible AI decisions in practice.

Description
AI regulation is moving fast. The EU AI Act is now in force, GDPR enforcement is intensifying, and stakeholder expectations around transparency and fairness are rising across every industry. Yet most teams building AI services still lack a clear, shared framework for what “responsible” actually looks like in practice — leaving organisations exposed to legal risk, reputational damage, and a loss of user trust.
Responsible AI by Design is an external service provided by DMP Studio Consulting and bridges that gap. It’s a hands-on, in-company training that brings design, legal, and technical colleagues into the same room with a common language, a practical legal grounding, and concrete tools to build AI services that are compliant, ethical, and trusted from the inside out.
Please note: This training is only available in English.
What is covered
The training runs as a full day, structured in two parts. In the morning, the focus is on the legal and ethical landscape: the EU AI Act in plain language, GDPR and data ethics, AI risk classification, and where your organisation sits within the regulatory framework. In the afternoon, you move from theory to practice: applying safeguards and guardrails to your actual AI products and services, working with ethical design tools, and building a risk map your team can act on immediately.
What participants leave with
- A clear understanding of EU AI Act obligations relevant to their role and organisation
- A shared vocabulary across design, legal, and technical team members
- A practical risk map of their AI products and services
- Concrete design principles and guardrails they can apply immediately
- A post-training summary document with key frameworks and next steps

Applications
Regulatory readiness
Organisations subject to the EU AI Act can use this training to help relevant teams understand their obligations, classify their AI systems by risk level, and identify the compliance steps required for their specific context.
Cross-functional alignment
Teams where legal, design, product, and technical colleagues work in silos can use this training to build a shared language and a common framework, so that responsible AI practice becomes a team effort rather than a compliance checkbox owned by one department.
Product and service development
Teams actively building or redesigning AI-powered products and services can use this training to integrate ethical safeguards and design guardrails from the start — before decisions become hard to reverse.
AI procurement and governance
Organisations procuring AI tools or governing existing AI systems can use this training to develop the internal literacy needed to ask the right questions, evaluate vendors critically, and set meaningful standards for responsible use.
Leadership briefing and decision-making
Senior managers and board members can use the half-day briefing format to gain a clear, accessible overview of AI compliance obligations and organisational risk — without requiring technical background.
Organisational change and capability building
Organisations embedding responsible AI practice at scale can use the multi-session programme format to build lasting internal capability across teams, moving from one-off awareness to embedded governance practice.
